Scraper Conveyor

     The scraper Conveyor is a device with two functions, cooling and transferring material. Quick cooling of the hot glass melt causes internal pressure and the glass falls apart into fine granules.

For cooling the transported material the granulator pan is filled with water.  Inside the pan there is a special poker chain moving carrying the material to the discharge chute.

The Scraper Conveyor must be equipped with the cool water feed alternatively a recirculation with cooling that will carry off the excess heat. The water temperature in the granulator should not reach above 65°C. This figure is monitored and appropriate measures in the cooling control are taken according to it. However, it is not a standard of the delivery.

The poker conveyor chain is constantly running. The guard device of the chain operation is monitoring the chain integrity. In case of its tearing it stops the drive and acoustically signals a failure.
